JOHOR BAHRU, May 18 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders used the PH Convention 2026 to stress the importance of stability, reform and reconnecting with voters ahead of the 16th General Election (GE16).
Penang PH chairman Chow Kon Yeow warned that support for the coalition should not be taken for granted.
Noting changing political sentiments and rising public concerns over cost of living, taxes, traffic congestion and economic uncertainty.
He said Penang remains a model for Unity Government cooperation but acknowledged that political competition is intensifying.
Especially with Perikatan Nasional attempting to expand influence in strategic constituencies. Meanwhile, Selangor PH chairman Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari defended the coalition’s governance record.
Saying difficult and sometimes unpopular decisions were necessary to solve bread-and-butter issues affecting Malaysians.
He highlighted reforms, subsidy restructuring and economic policies aimed at long-term public benefit while stressing that Selangor and Penang had become successful models of transparent administration.
Both leaders urged party members to strengthen grassroots efforts and maintain political stability as PH prepares for increasingly challenging electoral battles ahead.
