PETALING JAYA, May 18 — Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli announced that Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama) will contest future elections independently, ruling out alliances with any political coalition.
Speaking after the party’s takeover announcement, Rafizi said Bersama aims to become a multiracial platform capable of contesting seats across constituencies.
Held by both government and opposition parties while offering voters a “real alternative.” Rafizi said Bersama’s focus would be on building a long-term political movement.
Centred on ideas and generational change. He said the party plans to develop younger leaders, with candidates in their 30s expected to be groomed for future elections.
Rafizi also confirmed he will defend the Pandan parliamentary seat under Bersama, while Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad is expected to contest Setiawangsa.
He added that Bersama would assess public support over the coming months before finalising its election strategy.
