KUALA LUMPUR, May 19 — Mandiri has initiated legal action against AMK chief Kamil Munim over alleged defamatory claims linking the organisation to foreign funding, political propaganda, cyber operations and threats to national security.
Mandiri executive director Amir Hadi said the accusations also involved claims of seven transactions totalling RM686,729 connected to individuals associated with the organisation.
A letter of demand dated May 18 has been sent to Kamil via email, with a physical copy to be delivered on May 19. Mandiri has given him 48 hours to respond and issue a public apology.
Failing that, the organisation said it will proceed with a RM10 million lawsuit and may take further legal action against others spreading similar allegations.
