KUALA LUMPUR, May 20 — DAP adviser Lim Guan Eng has criticised former minister Khairy Jamaluddin and Umno, accusing them of being “fake progressive.”
After Khairy defended Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh’s political style. Lim said the remarks were disappointing given Khairy’s earlier stance as a progressive politician.
He also alleged that Umno continues to tolerate divisive “culture war politics” for political gain, claiming it contradicts claims of moderation.
Lim further said both Umno and Khairy have shifted from their earlier positions on non-racial politics, adding that “a leopard cannot change its spots” in reference to their political consistency.
