GEORGE TOWN, May 22 — Frasers Hospitality has officially opened Capri by Fraser, Penang, marking the brand’s first property in Penang.
Located along Jalan Magazine near the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the 22-storey hotel combines heritage architecture with contemporary lifestyle hospitality aimed at modern independent travellers.
The property features 248 rooms and residences, social spaces, pet-friendly facilities, EV charging stations and curated local art inspired by Penang’s culture and heritage.
Kuala Lumpur-based architect and artist Lian Kian Lek led the hotel’s artistic direction, integrating heritage storytelling throughout the building.
The hotel’s dining concept is anchored by local hospitality brand Norm, which operates Palm House Restaurant and Bar as well as the Grab & Go café at The Den.
Frasers Hospitality said the opening strengthens its presence in Malaysia while positioning the hotel as a social and cultural hub within George Town.
