PERAI, May 22 — The Jabatan Pendaftaran Pertubuhan Malaysia (JPPM) detained eight individuals, including seven Indonesian nationals and one local woman.
During an enforcement operation against an alleged unregistered organisation in Perai, Penang. Authorities said the raid was conducted at a premises in Taman Pelangi.
Following intelligence on a group known as Persatuan Anak Rantau Indonesia (PARI), which is suspected of operating without legal registration under the Societies Act 1966.
Various items including membership cards, official stamps, administrative documents, banners and mobile phones were seized.
All suspects were remanded for four days to assist investigations under Section 42 of the Societies Act 1966.
