FRANKFURT, May 22 — Penang continues to strengthen its standing as a major business events destination after recording its strongest performance in 2025.
The Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) said the state hosted 3,391 business events last year, generating RM1.91 billion in estimated economic impact.
Alongside over 824,000 room nights and 451,000 delegates. Looking ahead to 2026, PCEB has launched the “Penang Inspiring Meetings” campaign in support of Visit Malaysia 2026.
While celebrating its 10th anniversary. Upcoming highlights include the Penang International Travel Exchange (PITE) 2026 and BE @ Penang 2026 conference.
PCEB also introduced the “BE Associate” talent initiative to develop future business events professionals through seminars, volunteer programmes and industry exposure.
