SEBERANG PERAI, May 23 — The Penang River Run 2026 will take place on July 4, 2026 at Auto-City 3, Seberang Perai. Bringing together 5,000 participants for what organisers describe as Penang’s first large-scale river awareness night run.
The event aims to raise RM100,000 to support Sungai Juru restoration efforts and the development of an Eco-Gallery under the Sungai Juru Transformation Programme.
Organised by Pertubuhan Penggerak Kerja Pulau Pinang (WonderWorks), the 5KM run will begin at 7.30pm and combines environmental awareness, corporate participation and community action.
WonderWorks president Rachel Teh Chuann Yien said the initiative aims to make river conditions “visible and difficult to ignore.” Registration is open until June 1 with a RM50 participation fee.
