PUTRAJAYA, May 23 — The Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) has launched the Sustainable Rebate & Incentive Assistance (SuRIA) Home programme.
To help Malaysians reduce electricity costs through residential rooftop solar installations. Deputy Prime Minister and PETRA Minister Fadillah Yusof announced that RM150 million has been allocated.
For the initiative, offering rebates of RM600 per 1kWac solar installation up to a maximum of RM3,000. The programme is expected to benefit between 45,000 and 50,000 households nationwide.
With a total solar capacity of around 250MW. Applications will open from June 1 until December 31, 2026 or until the quota is fully utilised.
PETRA said the initiative supports efforts to ease rising energy costs while advancing Malaysia’s renewable energy target of 70 per cent by 2050.
