KUALA LUMPUR, May 24 —Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has taken over Pandan as his adopted parliamentary constituency following the resignation of former PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).
PKR vice-president Amirudin Shariannounced that Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz has been appointed as monitoring officer for both Pandan and Ampang parliamentary constituencies.
Amirudin said the appointment was made at Anwar’s request as Tengku Zafrul wanted a more active role in Selangor politics.
The move follows the resignations of Rafizi and former Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, who recently left PKR to join Parti Bersama Malaysia.
Amirudin said PKR would continue monitoring party operations in both constituencies to ensure stability and effective services for residents.
Tengku Zafrul meanwhile pledged to work closely with grassroots members and continue serving communities in Pandan and Ampang regardless of race or religion.
