KUALA LUMPUR, May 24 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has called on Malaysians to reject hate politics and uphold unity.
Warning against allowing a minority of extremists to dominate public discourse. Speaking at the national Wesak Day conference in Taman Tun Dr Ismail.
Anwar said the majority of Malaysians across all races desire peace, stability and harmony despite attempts by certain groups to create fear and division through racial and religious sentiments.
He urged the public to embrace values such as compassion, wisdom and moral conduct, saying these principles align with both Buddhist and Islamic teachings.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the conference marked the first time the government co-organised the national Wesak Day event attended by a Malaysian prime minister.
