KUALA LUMPUR, May 24 — Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia (Gerakan) plays an important role in bridging understanding between Perikatan Nasional (PN) and the Chinese community.
Speaking at Gerakan’s 58th anniversary convention, Samsuri said the party’s moderate and rational political approach remains relevant in Malaysia’s diverse political landscape.
He stressed that no Malaysian should be marginalised based on race, religion or political background, adding that assistance should be given fairly to those in need.
Gerakan president Dominic Lau echoed the sentiment, saying Malaysians are increasingly frustrated with empty political promises and want practical solutions instead of slogans.
He said Gerakan aims to reposition itself as a moderate and solution-oriented political force.
