KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 — Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) has defended its actions within Perikatan Nasional (PN) following recent remarks by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.
Questioning cooperation between the two parties. In a statement, Bersatu said issues involving the Perlis Menteri Besar position and Negeri Sembilan’s political crisis.
Disciplinary actions against party members should have been resolved internally through discussions within PN.
Bersatu stressed that the appointment of the Perlis Menteri Besar was under the discretion of Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail and denied accusations of betrayal.
The party also maintained that its disciplinary actions complied with party rules and were recognised by the Registrar of Societies.
Bersatu further rejected claims that it lacked grassroots machinery, saying the party continues receiving hundreds of new membership applications daily.
