BUKIT MERTAJAM, May 27 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said he has yet to meet Deputy Prime Minister and Barisan Nasional chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to discuss preparations and cooperation for upcoming state elections.
Anwar, who is also Pakatan Harapan chairman, gave a brief response of “not yet” when asked by reporters whether talks had taken place.
Earlier this month, Anwar said he hoped to meet Zahid following Barisan Nasional’s decision to contest all 56 seats in the upcoming Johor state election.
Johor BN chairman Onn Hafiz Ghazi had announced the coalition’s full-scale contest, prompting Pakatan Harapan leaders to state that they were also prepared to contest independently in Johor and several other states if necessary.
