GEORGE TOWN, May 27 — Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia Penang Public Complaints Bureau chief Andrew Ooi has questioned inconsistent speed limits.
Along the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway. near Queensbay Mall, saying the situation is causing confusion among motorists.
Ooi pointed out that the left lane carried a speed limit of 90km/h while the right lane was limited to 70km/h, describing the arrangement as illogical and potentially dangerous.
He questioned whether the differing limits were caused by technical, design or safety issues and urged authorities to provide a clear explanation.
Ooi also called on the Penang government and relevant agencies to review the road signage and speed limit arrangement immediately to reduce confusion and minimize accident risks for road users.
