SEPANG, May 27 — The Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) aerotrain service is expected to return to full 24-hour operations by the end of May.
Pending approval from the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD), said Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
He said Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has completed all required technical tests and submitted its safety report for final evaluation.
Currently, the aerotrain operates with nightly pauses for maintenance and inspections. Loke said the temporary suspension is necessary to ensure system reliability following its recent resumption in July.
Since then, the service has recorded about seven million passengers and over 53,000 trips with a 98.41 per cent operational rate.
Authorities also noted earlier minor incidents, mainly linked to technical and user-related issues.
