KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 — AIXTRON SE has signed an agreement with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) to establish a new greenfield manufacturing facility in Penang.
Reinforcing Malaysia’s role in advanced semiconductor production. The project, announced at SEMICON Southeast Asia 2026.
Will be located at Bandar Cassia Technology Park and marks a key expansion of AIXTRON’s global footprint.
The facility will include cleanrooms, logistics areas and an integrated office complex designed for high-efficiency production of semiconductor deposition systems used in AI, EV and advanced electronics applications.
MIDA CEO Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim said the investment supports Malaysia’s New Industrial Master Plan 2030 by creating high-skilled jobs and strengthening local supply chains.
AIXTRON CEO Dr Felix Grawert said Malaysia offers a strong ecosystem and talent base, enabling closer customer support and greater supply chain resilience across the Asia-Pacific region.
