KUALA LUMPUR, May 29 — Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Elitery have expanded the CendekiAwan Malaysia programme with Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU).
Enabling 2,500 students to complete a three-month generative AI development programme. The initiative has now upskilled more than 15,500 Malaysian students since 2025.
Students progressed from using AWS PartyRock to developing production-ready applications with Amazon Bedrock and Kiro.
AWS vice-president Sergio M. Loureiro said the programme aims to build a true AI-ready workforce in Malaysia. Winning student projects focused on healthcare, education, financial inclusion, sustainability and government services.
