KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 – Projek Pulang ROJEK, SaveDAK has launched a global campaign urging the return of endangered Malaysian elephants.
Dara, Amoi and Kelat from Tennoji Zoo to the National Elephant Conservation Centre Kuala Gandah. Conservationists and wildlife advocates claimed the elephants are facing welfare concerns in captivity.
The movement said over 161,000 supporters worldwide have signed petitions calling for the elephants’ repatriation.
Organisers are urging Malaysian and Japanese authorities to review the 25-year conservation agreement and prioritise the elephants’ wellbeing in their natural habitat.
