GEORGE TOWN, May 31 — Penang Port Commission (PPC) and Penang Port Sdn Bhd (PPSB) will provide free ferry services for Malaysian citizens on May 31 and June 1.
In conjunction with Wesak Day and the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s Birthday celebrations. The free service will be available for passengers travelling from both Pangkalan Sultan Abdul Halim and Pangkalan Raja Tun Uda terminals.
Throughout the operating day. PPC chairman Yeoh Soon Hin said the initiative aims to ease travel costs, reduce traffic congestion and encourage greater use of public transport.
More than 7,100 pedestrian passengers and 2,200 motorcycles used the ferry service during the 2025 Wesak Day period.
