KUALA LUMPUR, May 31 – National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia (NKF), in collaboration with UNIMAS Health Centre.
Organised the first State-level World Kidney Day 2026 celebration in Kota Samarahan under the theme “Kidney Health for All: Caring for People, Protecting the Planet”.
The event featured the first-ever World Kidney Day Charity Fun Run in Sarawak, attracting around 250 participants including students, staff, and members of the public.
Sarawak Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government II Michael Tiang Ming Tee stressed the importance of early awareness and screening to combat kidney disease.
NKF CEO Choo Kok Ming reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to preventive care and community outreach.
The programme also included health screenings, organ transplant exhibitions, and community engagement activities to promote kidney health awareness among Sarawakians.
