KUALA LUMPUR, June 1 — Betamek Berhad and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS have successfully completed the “SafeSync 360: Next Gen-Infotainment with Child Guard Technology” project.
Developed by Betamek Research Sdn Bhd with UTP, the project achieved Technology Readiness Level 6 and met ASEAN NCAP 2026–2030 assessment requirements for Child Presence Detection (CPD) technology.
The system integrates advanced infotainment features with intelligent child safety detection to help prevent children from being left inside vehicles.
Betamek said the project is the first CPD technology researched and developed locally by a Malaysian company.
WEith plans for future commercialisation in both electric vehicle and internal combustion engine segments.
