JOHOR BAHRU, June 1 — Teo Nie Ching has expressed sadness over Marina Ibrahim’s decision to retire from active politics and not contest in the next Johor state election.
Describing her departure as a loss to the party. Teo revealed that when Marina was selected to contest the Skudai seat in 2022.
The plan was for her to serve one term before being considered for a strategic role in a non-traditional constituency.
She said Johor DAP viewed Marina as the strongest candidate to contest a potential urban seat currently held by Pakatan Harapan.
As part of efforts to broaden the party’s appeal. Teo thanked Marina for her years of service, dedication and leadership since joining DAP in 2017.
While expressing hope for future collaboration in community and public service initiatives.
