PUTRAJAYA, June 2 — Election Commission of Malaysia (SPR) has acknowledged the announcement by Johor Menteri Besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi regarding the dissolution of the 15th Johor State Assembly.
SPR chairman Ramlan Harun said the commission will announce the date of a special meeting to determine key dates for the 16th Johor state election once it receives official notification.
From the Speaker of the Johor State Assembly. The special meeting will decide important election matters, including nomination day, polling day and the campaign period.
The announcement follows the dissolution of the Johor State Assembly earlier today, paving the way for a state election to be held within the constitutionally prescribed period.
