KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 – Majlis Belia Malaysia has called on politicians to exercise greater responsibility and respect when discussing Islamic figures.
Following remarks allegedly made by Nik Muhammad Zawawi Salleh regarding the companions of Prophet Muhammad.
MBM stressed that the Khulafa al-Rasyidin and the Prophet’s companions must be discussed with proper knowledge, accuracy and decorum.
The council also supported calls for a public clarification and proposed that the government consider guidelines or legal frameworks to address misleading or sensational religious statements that could create misunderstanding among the public.
