KAZAN, June 4 — Malaysia’s Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC) has strengthened its global Muslim-friendly tourism initiative through a strategic partnership with Russia’s Halal assurance body, RusQuality.

The collaboration was formalised through a Memorandum of Mutual Recognition signed during the 17th International Islamic Forum Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum in Tatarstan.

The agreement aims to harmonise Malaysia and Russia’s Muslim-friendly tourism and hospitality standards, while allowing both countries to use each other’s official branding and certification logos.

ITC director-general Mohammad Faisal Abu Suaib Khan said the partnership will help simplify business cooperation and strengthen confidence among Muslim travellers.

Supporting the growing global Muslim tourism market valued at over US$235 billion.
