KUALA LUMPUR,June 4 — A lecturer from Taylor’s University has cautioned that so-called “uncensored” AI systems.
May quietly weaken critical thinking and personal judgment despite appearing to promote freedom of expression.
Deborah Chris Raj said AI platforms increasingly shape user behaviour through algorithms that reward emotional reactions and instant responses over reflection and careful reasoning.
She argued that while AI tools offer convenience, overreliance may reduce people’s ability to tolerate uncertainty.
Think independently and make deliberate decisions. Raj stressed that the key issue is not censorship alone, but how AI systems influence human habits, attention and autonomy over time.
