GEORGE TOWN, June 5 — Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow has rejected allegations that the state government awarded a new land reclamation project.
Without an open tender process, saying the claims are inaccurate and misleading. In a statement issued through the Penang Development Corporation (PDC).
The state government clarified that the Safe Rehabilitation Project for the Jelutong Landfill Site (TPSJ) underwent an open Request for Proposal process in 2015.
Before PLB Engineering Berhad was selected. PDC said the proposed 70-acre additional area is part of the project’s implementation mechanism.
Under a Joint Development Agreement signed in 2020. The agency stressed that no reclamation works have started and that all future activities remain subject to technical, environmental and regulatory approvals.
