PETALING JAYA, June 5 — The 2026 Taiwan IP Expo in Malaysia officially opened at Sunway Pyramid, bringing together 12 Taiwanese original character intellectual properties.

And 12 new Taiwan-Malaysia creative collaborations aimed at expanding into the Southeast Asian market. Organised by Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA).

With support from the Malaysia Creative Intellectual Property Association. The event combines retail showcases, business matching and cross-border creative partnerships.

The five-day expo features interactive activities, AR games, creator sessions and exclusive merchandise. While highlighting collaborations between Taiwanese and Malaysian artists.

TAICCA deputy CEO Yang Chung-Tian said Malaysia serves as a strategic gateway for Taiwanese IP expansion in Southeast Asia.

While MYCIP president Lau Shaw Ming said the growing response reflects rising demand for original IP content and regional creative collaborations.
