PUCHONG, June 6 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has reaffirmed the federal government’s recognition of Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir as the legitimate Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan.
Despite claims that Tunku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja’afar was proclaimed the state’s new ruler at a hotel in Alor Gajah, Melaka.
Anwar said any disputes regarding the royal succession should be resolved through constitutional and legal channels without creating public uncertainty or affecting state administration.
He also questioned the appropriateness of a royal proclamation being conducted at a hotel, stressing the importance of preserving the dignity of the monarchy.
The succession dispute continues amid ongoing court proceedings and the recent dissolution of the Negeri Sembilan State Assembly.
