GEORGE TOWN, June 6 — A long-term traffic diversion will be implemented along Jalan Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Pulau Pinang from June 11, 2026 until December 31, 2027.
To facilitate construction works for the Penang Mutiara Line LRT project. The diversion will affect the exit route near the multi-storey car park building at Penang International Airport.
While all other lanes will remain open. Authorities said the 568-day diversion is required for bored pile works under the Mutiara Line CMC1 package.
Motorists are advised to follow traffic signage and instructions from on-site personnel, with safety barriers, traffic cones and flagmen deployed throughout the construction period.
