KUALA LUMPUR, June 8 — Euan Smith has stepped down as group chief executive officer of Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad after more than three years in the role.
The company announced that former CEO Henry Tan Poh Hock will return as interim group CEO effective June 16 while a permanent successor is identified.
Astro said Smith will continue to provide technical advisory support to the board until December 6, 2026 to ensure a smooth transition.
During his tenure, Smith led Astro’s digital transformation, including the expansion of streaming services, the launch of Sooka and Astro Fibre.
And the development of addressable advertising solutions. Trading of Astro shares resumed at 10am today following the announcement.
