KUALA LUMPUR, June 8 — Anthony Loke Siew Fook has confirmed that DAP will contest 17 seats in the upcoming Johor state election, an increase from the 14 seats it contested in 2022.
Loke said the party’s strategy includes defending its 10 incumbent seats, attempting to regain four constituencies lost in the last election and contesting three additional seats.
He added that Pakatan Harapan’s seat negotiations have been largely completed, with only minor adjustments remaining between coalition partners.
DAP currently holds the largest share of opposition seats in the Johor State Assembly, and the expanded contest is seen as an effort to strengthen the coalition’s presence in new constituencies.
