SUNGAI PETANI, June 8 — A Proton X50 involved in a tragic crash that claimed the lives of six family members had been delivered to its owner just hours before the accident.
The vehicle belonged to Ahmad Fahim Ahmad Shukri, 21, and was being driven by his brother, Ahmad Shafiq, 27. The victims were travelling to Merbok to visit a relative’s grave when the collision occurred at about 3.45pm.
Among those killed were Ahmad Fahim, Ahmad Shafiq, seven-year-old Iskandar Arfan, Nora Husin, 55, Jamaliah Sannusi, 27, and a six-month-old infant.
A three-year-old girl sustained serious injuries. Dashcam footage showed the SUV entering the opposite lane before colliding with a lorry carrying soil.
