ISKANDAR PUTERI, June 8 — Caretaker Johor Menteri Besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi has stated that he would rather relinquish his position than lead a Johor government formed together with Democratic Action Party (DAP).
Speaking at the launch of Barisan Nasional’s election machinery, Onn Hafiz dismissed claims that a vote for Barisan Nasional would indirectly support DAP.
Describing such assertions as slander. He said that if BN receives a fresh mandate to govern Johor with the consent of the state’s royal leadership.
The coalition would not form a state government with DAP. Onn Hafiz added that BN’s election strategy is being finalised following consultations with party divisions across Johor.
