KUALA LUMPUR, June 8 — PAS has officially decided to end its political cooperation with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) following a special meeting of its Central Working Committee.
In a statement signed by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, the party said the decision was made after reviewing reports, studies and assessments on the current state and direction of PAS-Bersatu relations.
PAS also endorsed an earlier decision by its Syura Council and announced plans to explore new political understandings and electoral cooperation arrangements.
Ahead of upcoming state elections and the 16th General Election. The party further welcomed interest from academics, professionals, political figures and community activists seeking to join PAS.
