PUTRAJAYA, June 9 —Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said it would be arrogant to deny any race or political party a role in government after they have earned public support through democratic elections.
Speaking at a Communications Ministry assembly, Anwar stressed that Malaysians must move beyond mere tolerance and strive to understand and respect one another’s differences.
He said diversity in race, culture and political views should be seen as a strength rather than a source of division. Anwar also urged political leaders to avoid rhetoric that could undermine national unity and social harmony.
