CUPERTINO, June 9 — Apple has announced refinements to its Liquid Glass user interface in iOS 27, introducing a new transparency slider that allows users to customise the visual appearance.
From fully opaque to completely transparent. The update follows user feedback received since the design language debuted last year.
Apple said sidebars will now extend to the edge of windows while maintaining refraction effects underneath, and sidebar icons will retain their original colours for improved visibility.
The company also enhanced app icon rendering by adding greater visual separation between layers, creating sharper edges and clearer details.
Apple said the changes improve contrast, readability and overall visual quality while preserving the signature Liquid Glass aesthetic.
