CUPERTINO, June 9 — Apple has announced macOS Golden Gate 27 at WWDC 2026, introducing major performance improvements, refined Liquid Glass visuals and long-awaited Apple Intelligence upgrades.
The new operating system features a redesigned interface with enhanced transparency controls, unified toolbars, improved window consistency and a revamped search architecture.
A key highlight is Siri AI, Apple’s next-generation assistant integrated into Spotlight through a new “Search or Ask” experience. The update also brings Visual Intelligence.
Smarter Writing Tools, AI-powered Safari features, enhanced Shortcuts. Upgraded Image Playground capabilities and new generative editing tools in Photos.
Apple said the update is designed to deliver a more intelligent, personalised and productive Mac experience while improving system reliability and performance.
