PUTRAJAYA, June 10 — More than 200 editors, journalists and media professionals have backed a national pledge promoting safe, ethical and responsible reporting of suicide-related content.
The pledge was signed by representatives of the Malaysian Media Council, National Union of Journalists and Gabungan Kelab Media Malaysia.
During a programme organised by the Communications and Multimedia Content Forum of Malaysia and the National Centre of Excellence for Mental Health.
Witnessed by Communications Minister Fahmi Fadziland Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad, the initiative aims to strengthen responsible newsroom practices and support national suicide prevention efforts.
