PUTRAJAYA, June 11 — The government has maintained retail prices for RON97, RON95 and diesel for the period of June 11 to 17, despite continuing high fuel subsidy costs estimated at RM3.5 billion per month.
The Ministry of Finance said RON97 remains at RM4.35 per litre, RON95 at RM3.72 per litre and diesel in Peninsular Malaysia at RM4.67 per litre.
Subsidised prices under the BUDI MADANI programme remain unchanged, with RON95 at RM1.99 per litre and diesel in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan at RM2.15 per litre.
The ministry said global Brent crude prices have eased to around US$90 per barrel, but subsidy costs remain substantial, with RON95 accounting for RM2 billion and diesel RM1.5 billion monthly.
