SEREMBAN, June 14 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said he opposed holding an early Negeri Sembilan state election, arguing that the government was only in its third year of office.
Speaking at the launch of Pakatan Harapan’s election machinery, Anwar said he had conveyed his dissatisfaction to Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun.
But acknowledged that political uncertainty left few alternatives. He criticised what he described as political manoeuvring by Umno lawmakers.
And urged voters to renew their mandate for a PH-led administration. Anwar also stressed that matters involving the Negeri Sembilan royal institution must be handled according to the constitution and legal processes, not political interests.
