GEORGE TOWN, June 15 — Penang will host a series of Japanese cultural events in the coming weeks, beginning with the Japan Cultural Festival in Batu Kawan.
Followed by the Penang Yosakoi Festival on June 27–28 and the Penang Bon Odori Festival on July 18 at Padang Kota Lama.
State Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Wong Hon Wai said the events reflect the strong and longstanding relationship between Penang and Japan.
Built on economic cooperation, cultural exchange and people-to-people ties. He noted that Japanese investments have played a significant role in Penang’s industrial development.
