JOHOR BAHRU, June 16 — Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said new Malay-based political parties are welcome, provided they help unite rather than divide the community.
The Barisan Nasional chairman said any political platform should focus on strengthening national unity, advancing Islamic causes and safeguarding the welfare of future generations.
His remarks came a day after Hamzah Zainudinannounced that the Reset movement would operate under the newly launched Parti Wawasan Negara.
Zahid said differences in political views should be channelled towards national interests while maintaining harmony among Malaysia’s diverse communities.
