PETALING JAYA, June 16 — Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) and Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) have announced the formation of a “progressive bloc” ahead of the Johor and Negeri Sembilan state elections.
In a joint statement, both parties said the alliance will coordinate campaign strategies, election machinery and seat allocations to avoid multi-cornered contests among parties sharing similar ideals.
The bloc will focus on issues such as the cost of living, quality employment, affordable housing, environmental sustainability and institutional reform.
Muda and PSM said they remain open to cooperation with other groups that share their progressive agenda. Johor voters head to the polls on July 11, while Negeri Sembilan will vote on August 1.
