KUALA LUMPUR, June 18 — Tourism Malaysia welcomed domestic and international visitors through special Kaamatan and Gawai celebrations held at key gateways.
Including Kota Kinabalu International Airport, Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 and Kuching International Airport as part of the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.
The celebrations featured traditional performances, cultural showcases, festive decorations and local delicacies, highlighting the heritage of Sabah’s Kadazan-Dusun and Sarawak’s Dayak communities.
Tourism Malaysia is also hosting an eight-day Mega Fam programme involving 15 influencers and media representatives from Asia to promote Malaysia’s cultural tourism offerings.
As of March 2026, Malaysia recorded 10.6 million international visitor arrivals, a 5.4 per cent increase compared to the same period last year, reflecting strong tourism growth momentum under VM2026.
