PORT DICKSON, June 19 — Malaysia recorded 388 sexual harassment cases between January and May this year, with most incidents linked to workplaces and individuals known to the victims.
Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Lim Hui Ying said police reports of sexual harassment rose from 477 cases in 2022 to 1,038 cases in 2025.
She attributed the increase partly to greater public awareness and willingness to report abuse. Lim also said the Tribunal for Anti-Sexual Harassment has received 100 complaints.
Resolving 82 cases within 60 days, and urged society to adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards sexual harassment.
