BUTTERWORTH, June 20 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim officiated the HAWANA 2026 grand finale at PICCA @ Butterworth Arena, attended by about 1,000 media practitioners from Malaysia and abroad.
Themed “Media Integrity, Foundation of Credibility”, the event recognised the role of journalists in delivering accurate and credible information.
The ceremony featured the HAWANA Award, Special HAWANA Award, contributions from the Kasih@HAWANA Fund, and prizes for the HAWANA–DBP Pantun Festival.
A memorandum of understanding was also exchanged between BERNAMA and Timor-Leste’s TATOLI news agency to strengthen regional media cooperation.
