KAZAN, June 20 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said Malaysia must be bolder in strengthening economic ties with Russia and other strategic partners, to avoid being left behind.
Un a rapidly changing global landscape. Speaking after the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit, Anwar revealed that Russia has agreed to guarantee long-term supplies of petrol, oil and gas to Malaysia.
He said the agreement, discussed with Russian President Vladimir Putin, will provide greater energy security without relying on short-term arrangements.
Anwar added that Malaysia is also exploring expanded cooperation with Russia in education, technology, agriculture, artificial intelligence and digital development.
