BUTTERWORTH, June 20 — The National Journalists’ Day 2026 (HAWANA 2026) summit will take centre stage in Penang today, gathering about 1,000 media practitioners from Malaysia and abroad.
Under the theme “Media Integrity, Foundation of Credibility”. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to officiate the event at PICCA @ Butterworth Arena.
While Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said he was pleased with the strong response to the RIUH Pi HAWANA Carnival. Ahead of the summit, media practitioners participated in programmes.
Including Malaysia Media Retreat 2.0 and industry dialogues on journalism’s future. The three-day carnival features local performers, creative brands, food vendors and interactive workshops.
